I went to Brueggers Bagels today and paid a lot of $$$ for a horrible bagel and NASTY--UNFRIENDLY service!!!! They ticked me off big time. They were located in Carlsbad, California and I will NEVER go back there again!!!
I work in retail and know that this time of year is stressful and full of rude customers. However- could you please pretend to like your jobs?? There is nothing worse than being ignored in line while waiting to order. Or trying to order something and having the workers ignore you till their side-conversation is over.

Rant at ME and tell me what has ticked You off.

There are NO GOOD BAGELS west of the Hudson River.

That doesn't excuse the poor service you received, but if you are ever in NYC, even a stopover at JFK, have a REAL Bagel.

The difference is extraordinary.

The one in Oceanside (O'side Blvd./College)is decent. The lady that works there in the morning is super nice and will open early for people just wanting to get a hot coffee before the bagels are done.I'm talking 5:30 a.m.~ish. But, they're right , the BEST bagels are def from NYC. Something about the water...

I don't know about your bagel store but I am with you on being ticked off about having to stand at the cashier and wait while they finish their conversation(s) with a co-worker. Or have to listen to their brainless palavar with their co-worker(s) while checking me out. This behavior is really widespread and not confined to cashiers. Awhile back, I called my credit union to ask some questions about my account and the background noise sounded like there was a hen party going on, loud laughter, etc. I had trouble understanding what my person was saying and finally asked her to move to an office where she could close the door. Afterwards I was appalled that these people were actually handling what little money I have in the world. I did eventually close my account there. I guess the customers of the world are expected to just hand over their money and not interrupt the worker's social life, I mean, the NERVE of CUSTOMERS to think they should be acknowledged at all!!!

I work @ bb's in upstate ny and i have 2 say that it all depends on common sense. some people just dont understand that customers come first and if your busy @ the moment just by saying one of us will be rite with makes a difference rather than ignoring the person. if i learned anything while working @ bruggers it would be G.U.E.S.T. IT STANDS FOR GREAT,URGENCY,EYE CONTACT,SMILE,AND THANK. Well if any ones ever in syracuse ny be sure 2 stop up well so long.
